Bio

Biography
I'm a mid-twenties girl with a complicated nationality who's lived in lots of places and as such, is more global citizen than anything else.

I have a BSc in Biology (and Psych. minor) in my pocket and am currently striving for an MSc in Biodiversity and Sustainability in the Netherlands. Academic interests are East African wildlife (especially carnivores), paleontology, languages (second-language acquisition, vocabulary origins) and psychological disorders. I took equitation classes (hunt and dressage) for about 8 years.

I'm bilingual in English and Spanish, speak French and German (fluently and semi-fluently, repectively), understand Catalan, and can decipher Dutch and Italian.

To paraphrase a melding between NGaiman and TPratchett: I'd rather be a climbing ape than a falling angel and I, like everyone, have got a lifetime to do so.

Interests
I don't do favorites, but rather degrees of like.

I love words: reading, writing, and collecting them. I am incredibly thankful for fanfiction and its related worlds: it has taught me much, both the nature of people and of writing.

I love reading. Most anything's fair game, though I seem to focus on things set in colonial and post-colonial times, science fiction and fantasy (but without the space ships and wizards), anything by Neil Gaiman, poetry, dystopian andd futuristic/apocalyptic fiction. I adore, for example, Good Omens by TPratchett and NGaiman, In the Language of Love by DSchoemperlan.

I like psychotic villains, star-crossed lovers and angst. I'm flexible with my ships, though I find myself reading more slash than het. I generally prefer to focus more on particular characters I find interesting. It's all about the character study, really.

I like films of most kinds and television shows which I try to keep up on. I occasionally have my attention arrested completely by an actor and try to discover more of his work. You'll notice these times, trust me.

I love most genres of music, from Baroque to Rock to Traditional to Country. Fanmixes are love.
